A right to buy purchase is where a current council tenant is offered the opportunity to purchase the property they are currently renting from the local authority.

The local authority will then provide the council tenant with an incentive by reducing the purchase price of the home by up to £112,800 in London boroughs, or up to £84,600 outside of London which can be used as the deposit funding towards the purchase of the home.
